Innovation Policy and Entrepreneurship: Current Policy Progams in LAC (RG-K1298)

The general objective of this consulting service is to increase theoretical and conceptual understanding the role of public policies in dynamic innovation and intensive entrepreneurship in LAC.
The specific objective is the preparation of a paper that characterizes the main patterns that emerges from different categories of entrepreneurs in the LAC region.
Main activities
In order to achieve the objective, the consultant will carry out the following activities:
a) To review the recent literature about entrepreneurship and economic development, with emphasis on evidence from developing countries.
b) To describe the main public programs that support the emergence of entrepreneurship in  the countries analyzed.
c) To characterizeand describe entrepreneurs, makingan extensive use of CAF household survey dataset for descriptive analysis and exploration of correlation between entrepreneurs characteristics and entrepreneur types (necessity, opportunity, among others  categories).
